PROJECT
Arizona Biltmore

ARCHITECT
Albert Chase McArthur

The Arizona Biltmore has been an Arizona landmark since opening in 1929, when it was crowned the "Jewel of the Desert". The legendary Grand Dame remains one of the most recognized resorts in the world for its distinctive Frank Lloyd Wright architectural style, luxurious facilities, and storied history as a playground of the rich and famous.

In 2006 Old California Lantern was asked to create a custom column mounted lantern for the new Squaw Terrace project at the Biltmore. This new lantern design used elements from one of our existing lanterns and added classic Frank Lloyd Wright design elements of horizontal louvers and a simple yet beautiful stained glass window pattern. The roof of the lantern was designed with mitered corners and a 45 degree edge detail. Constructed of solid brass the finish provided is our “New Verde” and the glass panes are a combination of gold iridescent with blue iridescent inset squares.
